How do we keep it a secret?
Total stealth mode. I arrive early and blend in like a regular tourist. We’ll coordinate a foolproof plan via WhatsApp beforehand. You just show up and pop the question—I’ll handle the rest from afar.
What if they suspect something?
Butterflies are normal. Keep your cover story simple: a casual sunset stroll before dinner. Even if you seem quiet, they won't see me coming. The nerves melt the second you drop to one knee.
What if the weather turns bad?
You’re 100% covered. We will immediately pivot to a backup day or time during your trip. If your vacation itinerary is completely locked and we cannot reschedule, your deposit is fully refunded.
I also love to embrace rain and clouds for extra nice cinematic shots.
As an engagement and proposal photographer based in the Algarve, I cover the full western coast from Sagres in the west to Faro in the east. Here's what each area offers for couple sessions and surprise proposals:
West — Sagres & Costa Vicentina
The most dramatic scenery on the coast. The Sagres cliffs are unmatched for proposals — raw, cinematic, and almost always empty at golden hour. Martinhal beach is a great alternative for a more relaxed couple session, with calm water and open light. If you're staying at Martinhal Sagres Resort, I work regularly in the area.
Central — Lagos, Luz & Portimão
The most-requested area for engagement photos in the Algarve. Ponta da Piedade is iconic — golden limestone arches, sea caves, and Atlantic light that makes every shot look like a painting. It's also one of the best surprise proposal locations in Lagos. Praia da Luz and Praia Dona Ana work beautifully for more intimate couple sessions. Carvoeiro and Ferragudo are great if you're staying further east.
East — Albufeira, Falésia, Vilamoura & Faro
Falésia's rust-red cliffs are among the most photogenic backdrops in Portugal — ideal for engagement sessions with a cinematic feel. I regularly shoot couples at Vilamoura, Quinta do Lago, and Vale do Lobo. Faro is the furthest east I travel.
